The Harcourt Applefest Art Show is intimate and distinctive exhibition for smaller works.
The exhibition of high-quality original art has become central to the festival. With awards and acclaim to be won, the Show has a history of impressive entries and esteemed exhibitors.
The grand opening and awards night will be held on Friday 5 March 2021, from 7.30 pm at ANA Hall, Harcourt. Art works will remain on display for Applefest-celebrations and throughout the Labour Day long weekend, then for Saturday and Sunday the next weekend too.
Categories and sections
There are five open award categories, including
- Best in Show
- Best Oil/Acrylic—Cameron Lang Memorial Award
- Best Watercolour—Shirley Stewart Memorial Award
- Best Other Medium
- Best Local Subject—a work, in any medium, depicting an object, event, person or place within the Mount Alexander Shire
The Harcourt Applefest Art Show is also unique for having a significant Junior section. The engaging works submitted by younger artists ensure that the Art Show committee is always delighted by emerging styles and fresh perspectives.

How to Enter
It’s easy to enter your art into the Harcourt Applefest 2021 Art Show.
Check out the Conditions of Entry and Sale and then, either:
Fees for entries by adults are $5 per item. Fees for entries by juniors (aged 18 and under) are $1 per item.
Entry forms and fees must be received by Friday 19 February 2021. Completed works must be delivered to ANA Hall, Harcourt at a later date: Monday 1 March.
Conditions of Entry and Sale
Artworks must be smaller works, less than 40cm by 40cm, including frame. All works must be original paintings created by the artist
Entry forms and fees must be submitted by Friday 19 February 2021. Adults may submit up to 3 entries. Juniors may submit up to 2 entries.
Deliver works to ANA Hall, Harcourt on Monday 1 March from 8.30am to 12 noon, or from 5pm to 6.30 pm.
At the time of delivery, artworks must be dry, ready to display and securely wired for hanging. They must be clearly labelled on back top right hand corner with artist name, title of work, medium and price.
Commission: 20% will be deducted from all sales.
Collect works on Sunday 14 March from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.
Harcourt Heritage will exercise all reasonable care with works submitted but, will not be responsible for the loss or damage to any work while it is in its custody or for insurance on works either during transport or on exhibition.
Harcourt Heritage will hang all works if space allows and reserves the right to reject any exhibit; no correspondence will be entered into.
Images of works may be used on the Applefest web site and/or for the purpose of promoting sales. Such images would be of low resolution to protect artist’s copyright.
Depending on the details of the artist, the subject and the medium, entries may be eligible to be considered for one or more of the award categories.
Harcourt Heritage will notify winners of award-winning exhibits. The Judge’s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Harcourt Heritage will forward cheques for sold works to entry-form address within 14 days of show closing.
